C Track
When you can’t fix to the wall, you can hang artworks from the ceiling.
C Track is our solution for hanging when you absolutely can’t fix to the wall. It is slim, just 16mm wide, and robust, providing a simple and strong fixing point to hang artworks from the ceiling. It can be fixed prior to the installation of drywall or tiles to provide a flush slot in the ceiling, or surface mounted when the installation is a retrofit. Artworks can then be hung at any position along the track using a choice of transparent cord, stainless steel cable or stainless steel rod.
DIMENSIONS and FINISH
C Track is an anodised aluminium extrusion that is available in either soft silver finish or white and comes in lengths of 2.5 mtrs. It comes pre-drilled and is easy to cut to length on site.

ACCESSORIES TO WORK WITH THE C TRACK
There are a range of components that work with the C Track to provide the look that suits your installation. The accessories are sold in sets that include a pair of hanging lengths, top blocks and fixings. You will need a set per work, and can choose either a barrel for use with our Ryman Hanger, or a hook if your work will be hung with a wire. All accessories can also be purchased separately here should you want to hang more than one work per hanging length set.
Perlon cord hanging set. Transparent nylon cord, unobtrusive and will carry artworks up to 20 kgs.

USEFUL TIPS AND GUIDELINES
Hanging artworks from the ceiling will never match the weight capacity of hanging from a wall. The C Track is slim and robust but it’s overall strength will be governed by the number of fixings into something solid. The track is delivered pre-drilled at 300mm centres. However because ceiling support structures vary so much, we have designed this track with an internal countersink. This means that it’s easy to drill the track wherever you find a sound fixing point and know that the countersunk screw will sit snugly in the base of the track.
Bear in mind that when an artwork is hung away from the wall, it has a tendency to lean forward. With the goal of keeping the work as vertical as possible you should make your attachments as high on the rear of the frame as possible or even consider the option of fixing to the top edge of the frame.
If it becomes necessary to fix into the drywall then be sure to use ‘hollow core fixings’ to achieve the best hold. When done properly drywall can be capable of carrying up to 8kgs.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Drill the track so that the fixing points coincide with a joist or something solid as this will ensure a far higher load limit for the track than if fixed directly to the drywall. The inside of the track already has the countersink for the screws built in. You should fix the track as close to the wall as possible as this will help to mitigate ‘picture lean’. When installing more than one length of track, insert one of the pins (supplied) halfway into the 2mm opening at the end of the track and use this pin to engage with the next section. This will ensure that all pieces of track are in good alignment.
Repeat this process until you reach the last section and trim to the correct length.
Hanging your Artworks:
With Perlon cord, feed the cord through the top block and insert into the opening at one end of the track. With stainless cable, feed the cord through the top block and insert into the opening at one end of the track. With stainless rods, insert the top blocks into the opening at one end of the track and slide to the correct position. Then screw the rods into place from underneath.
Slide the appropriate barrel up the cord or rod from the bottom and tighten at the required height with the bolt heads facing toward you. It’s much easier to do this with the two lengths side by side so that the barrel heights match.
For artworks with cord on the back, just place the cord over the hook. If you are using the Small Ryman Hanger, hook it over the small bolt and discard the large one and vice versa for the Large Ryman Hanger. For maximum strength be sure to tighten both the bolt (using a screwdriver) and the grub screw (using an allen key).
With the rods at the correct distance apart, the artwork is lifted into place so that the protruding boltheads engage with the the Ryman plate on the back of the artwork.
