Redrawing The Line: Absolute have developed the Essentials Freestanding Barrier 400mm which comes as a kit complete with 2.5 metres of grey elasticated cord, and featuring a patent-pending 'self grip top' design that makes assembly and adjustments effortless.

This barrier's clean design is a stylish solution for budget conscious projects. It's finished in Dove White that will blend comfortably in a wide variety of settings and features non-slip pads that will ensure it stays put and leaves no marks.

Our neutral finish and clean lines sit comfortably within the museum and gallery environment, as well as, corporate, retail and civic facilities. An elasticated cord connects the barriers and draws a straight line in the air, blending with the architecture and ensuring that the artwork is the object of attention. Our Essentials Barrier has modular accessories such as Wall Terminators that allow clean tie-backs directly to the wall.

Whenever possible, barriers should be placed in a symmetrical fashion in front of an artwork or exhibit, as this maintains good overall visual harmony.

For the best finish, it is important to ensure that the cord maintains a level straight line between barriers. We recommend spacing between barriers to be 1.5m to 1.8m. This will help the barriers to blend discreetly with the environment and not overcrowd the display.

The recommended maximum distance of 1.8m is to maintain a taught cord and prevent sagging.
