Packaging Progress: Celebrating a Small Change Making a Big Difference

We’re very pleased to share a recent article from the University of Salford Art Collection highlighting a sustainability success story we’re truly proud of.

Following thoughtful feedback from their team, we reviewed the small single-use plastic bags previously used to pack our hangers and accessories. Their enquiry gave us the nudge we needed to accelerate this change – and we’ve now fully switched to UK-made, biodegradable, compostable Glassine bags.

In the 12 months before the change, we used 16,500 of the old plastic bags. Thanks to this switch, those 16,500 pieces of single-use plastic will be eliminated every year going forward – with no compromise in product experience.

As we continue to evaluate and improve our packaging across the board, we’re grateful to the University of Salford team for raising the question so constructively. It’s a brilliant example of how simple feedback can make a tangible difference.

Next on our list: replacing the lay-flat plastic used for our long track products. Watch this space.
